- 27.6 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in North Carolina are due to diabetes, ranking North Carolina 17th lowest in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
- In 2005, 543,000 North Carolina adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
