- 27 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Maine are due to diabetes; ranking 20th highest in the nation for diabetes deaths.
- In 2005, 77,000 Maine adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
