Pre-diabetes and Other Medical Tests

 

 

 

Jet Injector: A device that uses high pressure instead of a needle to propel insulin through the skin and into the body. While not commonly used to treat diabetes, jet injectors are commonly used to give vaccinations to larges groups of people.

Jet injectors can be used to inject insulin.

Juvenile Diabetes: Former term for insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), or type 1 diabetes.

How is pre-diabetes diagnosed?

A simple blood test that can often be done in your doctor's office can tell you whether or not you have pre-diabetes. If you are over age 40 ask your doctor to screen you for pre-diabetes. Should you be tested for pre-diabetes?
